Guy is a freelance director of comedy commercials, based in the UK, working worldwide. His default setting is comedy, and his ability to see the world through that lens has led to work for brands including Google, Sony, McDonald’s, MTV, Samsung, Skoda, Mars, 20th Century Fox, Coca-Cola, Cadbury’s, Intel, Barclays, and many more.

Born and brought up in Scotland, Guy moved south in search of sunshine to study film in England and the Netherlands. His thesis film won a Royal Television Society award. Guy headed to London to work freelance as a director and was quickly picked up by a production company to direct commercials. Early work included being selected as one of twenty-four directors worldwide to contribute a spot for the MTV Staying Alive AIDS campaign (nominated at the Cannes Lions that year). Another high-profile project saw Guy directing Roger Federer for Gillette film that featured across news channels worldwide and entered popular culture. It was copied by top athletes around the world and life-threateningly re-enacted by James Corden and Andy Murray on A League of Their Own.

Guy has brought his unique sensibilities to projects around the world, directing films in Europe, North America, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia. Always keen to grow as a filmmaker, Guy has worked in fiction, documentary, and music and was selected by the British Council to attend the Berlinale and been funded by the BFI. His films have won awards and played in festivals around the world. He has two feature films in development.
